Character information
|
Aaron Hotchner is a Supervisory Special Agent in the FBI's Behavioral Analysis Unit in the television series Criminal Minds.
Modus operandi
Compared to Gideon's more unconventional methods, Hotch is more adept at playing by the book. However, he is possibly as skilled a profiler as Gideon, and is still willing to occasionally bend the rules for the sake of catching an unsub. While Gideon has a more intellectual approach to the job, often trying to talk down an unsub rather than shooting them, Hotch takes a more pragmatic view and is more willing to resort to drastic measures when they become necessary. Being the official leader of the team for much of the series, and having previously worked as a prosecutor, Hotch is used to dealing with paperwork and bureaucracy. Yet, he is also very effective on the field, being probably the best marksman on the team and also a fearsome opponent in physical combat.
