Gin to Kin is a manga series by Nobuyuki Fukumoto. The story begins with an encounter between Tetsuo Morita, a young man who can't get ahead in the world and wastes his money on gambling, and Ginji Hirai, a shady fixer who makes billions of yen in underworld dealings. Fascinated with Ginji, Morita is drawn to the dark underbelly of the world of finance.

- Tetsuo Morita (Mastermind; Apprentice): A 20-year-old who has never held a steady job and spends his time and money at the race track. Recruited by Ginji to assist him in his illicit schemes, he quickly learns the ropes and sets out on the path of becoming an underworld villain.
- Ginji Hirai (Lead Mastermind): An influential figure in the criminal underworld, known as "Gin-ou" ("Silver King"), who makes fortunes through various illegal means.
