Leverage is an American television series created by John Rogers and Chris Downey. It aired in 5 seasons from 2008 to 2012.
The story follows Leverage Consulting & Associates, a criminal team of modern-day Robin Hoods who pull elaborate cons and heists on powerful individuals and corporations, as a way of bringing justice to the people who have been exploited or harmed by them.
Characters
- Nathan Ford (Lead Mastermind): The team's Brains or (appropriately) Mastermind. A former insurance investigator whose life went on a downward spiral after his son's death, Nate eventually finds himself leading the same criminals he once tried to catch. Despite his drinking problem, Nate's sharp mind is always several steps ahead of his adversaries, and he always has a plan (or several).
- Alec Hardison (Specialist): The team's Hacker. A computer and technology expert, Hardison is responsible for collecting intelligence on their targets, breaking into computer systems and providing the team with gadgets to use on the field.
- Eliot Spenser (Specialist): The team's Hitter. An ex-military and martial arts specialist, Elliot's hand-to-hand combat skills come into play when the team is under physical danger.
- Parker (Specialist): The team's Thief. By far the most eccentric member of the group, being a thief is the only life Parker has ever known. What she lacks in social skills for functioning in polite society she makes up in criminal skills such as lockpicking, pickpocketing and safecracking.
- Sophie Devereaux (Backup Mastermind): The team's Grifter. An actress when not on the job, Sophie is as good at playing parts during a con as she is bad at doing so on stage. With her talent for assuming new identities and mastery of human psychology, Sophie is usually responsible for roping the mark into the con.
- James Sterling (Rival Mastermind): Nate's old colleague and rival from his insurance-investigator days. Sterling's job and ambitions tend to place him as the team's most recurring antagonist. Yet, his self-serving nature will occasionally allow him to let their plans succeed if he can somehow benefit from the situation.
