Character information
|
Moist von Lipwig is the main character of the Going Postal series of fantasy novels, a con man who after being captured is given a second chance as Ankh-Morpork's Postmaster General.
Skills
- Confidence tricks: Before being caught and supposedly hanged, Moist made a living as a traveling con man, holding numerous aliases and identities that he used for his schemes.
- Disguises: The owner of a completely nondescript and unmemorable face, Moist took advantage of this in his days as a con man to avoid identification and escape from his victims and the authorities, and would often enhance the effect by adding memorable props to his disguises that would catch people's attention and distract them from his actual facial features. After becoming the Postmaster General, he makes use of the same principle when he needs to move around incognito by changing out of the golden suit that has become associated with his figure in the public eye.
- Forgery: One of Moist's specialties, he keeps various tools for the purpose of forging documents in what he calls Mr. Robinson's Box. His experience as a forger is what ultimately inspires him to introduce stamps and later paper money to Ankh-Morpork and the Discworld.
