Character information
|
Nao Kanzaki is one of the main characters of the Liar Game manga series. She is a young girl who finds herself trapped in the Liar Game against her will. Starting off naive and honest to a fault, she gradually learns to doubt people with the help of Akiyama.
Skills
- Empathy: What initially seems like Nao's biggest weakness ends up becoming one of her greatest assets. After repeatedly advocating for cooperation and making every effort throughout the tournament to save the other players, as the series progresses her words and actions start getting through to people, making her a rare source of trust in the Liar Game and driving others to want to ally themselves to her. Additionally, although even towards the end she remains somewhat bad at telling when people are lying, once she learns through Akiyama that doubting people is not a bad thing, she becomes able to channel her natural empathy to gain insight into the personalities and motivations of others, sometimes even surpassing Akiyama in this regard.
Modus operandi
Nao's ultimate goal in the Liar Game is to save everyone, that is, to get all players to leave the game with no debt, so that the only real loser is the LGT office. With that in mind, her first priority in every round is to come up with a strategy to ensure this can be achieved, even if she doesn't always realize how unlikely it will be to convince the other players to go along with it. Although her kind and honest nature makes her particularly vulnerable to being tricked, and she starts the story hopelessly naive, she becomes much better at both understanding and deceiving others as the Liar Game progresses, even being able to occasionally come up with her own Tricks without Akiyama's help.
